  chapter three from 'shepherding the flock of go' published by the wts of penn/ny as part of their worldwide bible educational work.

  the wts is a non-profit whose publications are not for sale but are freely given to those who show 'genuine' interest..... while not required, a donation is always joyfully accepted .

  WTF?!?! - THE INDIVIDUAL?? Why gender neutral? Does this leave the door open for the possibility that the appointee may have gone homo?

  How credible is the wt claim to be chosen by Christ in 1919.

  i brought this up to debator on another thread... and he/she ignored it... thought the subject deserved its own thread...for anyone who has never read the finished mystery.. .

  the watchtower claims that jesus inspected the churches in 1919 and chose the watchtower to represent god on earth, based upon the spiritual food they were dispensing at that time.. .

  I can hear my family reply that it doesn't matter WHAT they were teaching, what matters is that they were the only ones alert and looking forward to the establishment of God's kingdom.

  No, they weren't.

  In 1919 JWs still believed that Christ had returned to earth in 1874 - teaching changed in 1920, when the return was "moved up" to 1914.

  Soooo, if they believed in 1919 that Christ was present, they couldn't have been "looking" for him.

  You don't wait for your master to return from the wedding if you believe he is already home...

  i plan on inviting a close family member ..(who has been a jw for several years).. to share thanksgiving with us this year.

  my husband and i have never been jws.

  what exactly is a jw's reason for not taking part in thanksgiving??.

  You'll probably get the standard, "we should be thankful everyday, not just one day of the year!" responses.

  You should also love and respect your spouse every day, yet it is symbolized with your wedding anniversary celebration.

  it outlines what appears to have been perjury by the watchtower society, and also is another example of political involvement.

  Excellent work, jwfacts!

  One note. As a native of Bulgaria, frankly I am shocked that the issue was even discussed or made such of a big issue in a first place. At the time, the Bulgarian government was comprised of former communist forces and parties and the country was in an economic turmoil. The government had way bigger headaches to deal with than the registration of some 2,000 local member religious organization.

  Knowing the nature of the beast, I would not be surprised if there were hefty green handshakes in the process to soften the, then practically communist, officials' stance...

  so i was thinking about this whole idea of animals being tame and getting along with each other and how the wts depicts this in their artwork.

  i'm having a major issue with this.

  how far down the food chain would this go?

  my son who is in college just called and said that he watched a movie titled "worlds apart" and it was about jw's and disfellowshipping.. has anyone seen this, or know much about it ?.

  about a year ago i went through a mild meltdown.

  it hit me fast i had panic attacks and became angry with all the control in my life.

  (being a jw) i had just found out i was being screwed on a real estate development project by another self righteous jw i have known for a long time but this was a big loss (about 4 months pay plus expenses).
